Camper Orientation
Recommended viewing for all first-timers
We're not a proper resort by a long shot. We're just carrying on the timeless tradition of connecting people to the simple pleasures of simpler times. Our primary focus is on private, “all camp” events. For such inquiries email info@wandawega.com to discuss your needs. That said, we will also make some of our “surplus inventory” available via airbnb. See the “Patrol Emblem Patches” below to learn more about our humble accommodations. Sorry, no unplanned walk-ins, and pretty please don’t think of staying with us without first carefully reading the details of our listings. Our “no-frills” vibe is part of our charm, but it’s not for everyone.

Our guests aren’t renting a couple of random cabins as much as they’re immersing themselves, their friends and family into the whole old-school camp experience featuring a full slate of recreational camp activities. The fact that we have no modern conveniences is part of our charm. For an unedited view of camp, simply search for us on Google, Instagram, YouTube, and Vimeo to see us through the eyes of the many who have visited over the years.

Our guests have access to everything from a private beach, a private fishing pier, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, horse shoes, tennis, shuffleboard, archery, campfires & s’more. Outdoor grills and smokers are available, as are a number of nearby restaurants, bars, and grills. Maximum number of guests must be agreed upon before booking.

For starters, the camp basics. A few beach towels. Some Deep Woods Off. Sunscreen. There is no heat or AC, so please check the weather before you come and bring an extra sleeping bag if it’s going to be chilly. As for food, we suggest that you shop local. Bring a cooler and fill it at the Elkhorn Piggly Wiggly, Frank’s Liquors or Wilson Farm Meats. Or Rushing Waters Fisheries in Palmyra. Or The Elegant Farmer. Even the nearby Mobil on Cty A has bait, ice and booze. You could always visit local restaurants like Holi Canolli, The Chalet and Sperino’s.

This is a private retreat that occasionally makes a few cabins available for recreational camp activities in order to support the ongoing renovation and the largely philanthropic activities. It is very informal and casual. Before visiting, please review our Manifesto of Low Expectations. All guests will be asked to sign a release of liability. Please also know that Camp Wandawega still hosts Sunday morning Catholic Mass In The Grass at 10am, weather permitting, a tradition dating back to the early 1960s when the property was still owned by The Latvian Marian Fathers. Just don’t want you to be surprised if you’re here on a Sunday morn and awaken to find 100-plus worshipers gathered at the nearby outdoor chapel.
Please note: the photos are not 100% accurate as things are always being moved around, redecorated, etc. They are still indicative of the overall vibe of the joint. We strongly suggest you come for a tour before booking so you know exactly what you’re getting. And, don’t forget to read our “Manifesto of Low Expectations.”
